I am seasoned veteran eager to share my knowledge. I have been tutoring, mentoring, teaching, volunteering, training, and instructing since Middle School, working during my youth in church volunteer programs. During my career as an Educator I have worked in the Business sector applying these skills. I have written curriculum for ESL, ABE and GED programs for several learning institutions. I taught elementary school bi-lingual classes for 5 years. I am passionate, caring and dedicated whenever I am guiding and inspiring a student to acquire and retain concepts, materials and knowledge. These are life changing skills. I plan to impart the joyous discovery to others, the "can do" spirit and the attitude that it is never to late to learn.I believe that everyone learns differently, an idea which I take into consideration with a never give up approach! I have a broad education-based knowledge coupled with personal enrichment that is constantly nourished through ongoing learning (always a student first and then educator) with achievements including Artist-Paintings in show and art leagues, music and dance--custom design in local theater and recent employment with The Dallas Opera productions. I have over 20 years of experience in the field of education. I have researched and implemented many helpful methods to improve retention and comprehension. My moto is that learning is fun--when it is fun -one will learn! highlight your abilities and experience in this area.
Approach taken is a "Can do experience--constant reassurance is on going to create a win - win atmosphere which motivates student(s)that learning is possible and achieved with the ever forethought that each student is important, unique and special! I always generate a positive -supportive caring attitude promoting helpfulness with each and every part of the learning process. The belief in rote memorization; using cognitive recall; using tactile materials and hands-on activities are very important and always given to great care to assist each student's personal approach to the subject matter which encompasses the student is number one and each question is important and full of potential to every grow and learn. Patience of a saint with ways meeting the needs that most help the student to learn, retain and apply the subject matter--a good motto is:"A willow tree bends with the wind." Thus working with students there is generated a positive journey of discover with strong encouragement we can learn, comprehend and have application to relate to why- reasons and relative to how it applies to life. Always looking to achieving the goal and the satisfaction of monitoring that success. Simply put Learning is fun --when not stressed out it is found lesson are easy then first thought-which in this process "The student is first -every question is important and shows the student is intelligent and desires to learn more!!!
