Experience Summary
Taught History and Latin at the high school level from 1984 through 1989. During 1988 and 1989 taught high school Honors classes while attending law school at night. Tutored high school students in Latin and Math while attending Gymnasium in Germany from 1976-1978. Concluded an intensive Polish immersion language program from 1980-1982 concluding with a Certificate of Competency in Polish qualifying for study in Poland.
Teaching Style
Learning, in my experience, is best done in an environment with a minimum of anxiety and performance stress. I develop an individualized learning strategy that builds up student confidence and interest to increase stress tolerance required for testing situations. As interest and confidence increase, the student develops skills, willingness to work harder, and confidence and pride. Every student can learn and succeed. Each person has a unique access to new information based on their personal, social, and intellectual background. I learn more about this from every new student.
My Hobbies
I love reading, play chess, exercise, love crafting and working with wood.
