Experience Summary
I have six years of tutoring college and high schools students in Math and Statistics courses. I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Department of Statistics of George Mason University for two years (2010-2011) and tutored college Statistics. I have been a tutor of the AVID program at Falls Church High School since 2006 and work with students in Algebra I, II, Geometry, PreCalculus, and AP Statistics.
Teaching Style
I do not give you the answers, but I help you figure out the answer for yourselves. First, we read the problem together to make sure that you read the problem carefully and understand what is being asked. Then, we go through understanding definitions, concepts, and formulas that you can use. You do the math/algebra, but I am there with you to help you go over confusing parts of the problem. I reinforce your learning by going through another problem or asking "what if" questions.
Other Comments
To make the most of our tutoring session, have your notes, books, calculators, and other supplies ready at hand. Most of all, have a positive attitude that you can do do this!
