Experience Summary
I began tutoring math, composition, and biology in college for 3 years and loved it! I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology with and minor in math. After college I continued tutoring middle school and high school students in math and biology in both a one-on-one and small group setting. I have been tutoring now for over 4 years and genuinely enjoy helping students realize their potential and succeed!
Teaching Style
I find it partucularly useful to take time to get to know the student's interests so that I can relate each subject to things that the student is familiar with. Making this connection between a difficult concept and the student's personal areas of interest helps the student feel comfortable with the subject and therefore more confident thinking through each question presented. Once confidence is established, it becomes easier for students to develop an understanding of the subject area that can be applied without the tutor present.
