Experience Summary
I have over 20 years professional experience as an environmental scientist and project manager for varied environmental investigations and remediation projects including: Groundwater and soil remediation, groundwater supply development, and hazardous waste facility release investigations, closure and remediation.
Presently I am an Environmental Specialist with the Engineering Section of the Ohio EPA’s Division of Environmental Response & Revitalization (DERR). I am responsible for tracking and reviewing Closure Plans submitted in support of hazardous waste site remediation data validation and quality assurance/quality control, (QA/QC).
I served as an instructor with the General Studies Battalion of the Ohio Army National Guard’s Regional Training Institute (RTI)for over 12 years. I taught the Total Army Instructor Training Course (TAITC) and Small Group Instructor Training Course (SGITC). He was the Unit Environmental Compliance Officer (UECO) responsible for oversite of environmental compliance at the RTI’s operations at RANGB and the Camp Ravenna Joint Military Training Center (CRJMTC). As UECO he conducted briefings and training of unit and student personnel pertaining to environmental procedures and compliance.
Teaching Style
I have taught "traditional" classes in a lecture/podium format, as well as small group and individual instruction.
My Hobbies
I apply some practical skills in restoration of my 1919 vintage home, as well as rebuilding a damaged vehicle for personal use. I have studied & trained in martial arts. I presently am writing a fictional and allegorical novel about water well drilling in southeast Ohio.
Other Comments
I believe that my formal education, as well as my professional and military experiences provide me with an opportunity to provide tutoring assistance over a diverse area of applied and academic subjects. I would prefer to focus on students that are preparing for the GED exam, but also am willing to assist students in middle school or high school as well.

I have used this degree to support my career in soil and water resource exploration, development, protection and remediation for over 20 years. My duties have included presenting instruction to internal public and private sector staff, and Army National Guard soldiers. |
