Experience Summary
I have performed as a freelance flutist for more than 10 years. I've toured as principal flutist with the Blue Lake Fine Arts International Youth Symphony Orchestra in Europe, and was a winner in the Bluffton University Bach Festival Young Artist Competition and the Tecumseh Pops Orchestra Competition.
I've studied with several world class musicians including Mathieu Dufour of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Mary Stolper of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Jennifer Clippert of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Kelly Hill Kretzer of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Lima Symphony, and Adrian Symphony. I have also been a semifinalist in the Michigan Outstanding Soloist Concerto Competition, and won numerous prizes and scholarships. I've performed in solo recitals in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and North Carolina.
I currently received my Certification as a Professional Flute Repair Technician, and I am now working on my second solo recording.
Teaching Style
As a practicing student myself, I recognize the importance of keeping the passion for music alive as well as time spent in technical practice. I may be young, however I've had the benefit of over a decade of professional experience with teachers from around the world. Having received several levels of instruction throughout the years has provided me with a well rounded comprehension of teaching. I look forward to getting to know you and work with you to reach your goals as a flutist!
My Hobbies
I enjoy listening to and playing all sorts of music. I am a HUGE movie buff! I like to read, spend time with my family and friends, and work with tools fixing flutes in my spare time.
