About Me

Experience Summary

I received my MA in the History of Art from the University of Georgia in August of 2010 and specialize in modern and contemporary art. I believe that an appreciation of art and its history is best cultivated by examining the major themes and tropes of past art and design and structurally linking it to the social history and art of later periods and when possible to local art. I have a broad education in all periods of art, but I'm most proficient with art from the mid 18th-21st centuries. I teach art appreciation as an adjunct instructor and am currently curating an exhibit of photographic prints and illustrations at the Nashville Public Library. As a graduate assistant I also assisted students with writing and improving their understanding of the material. You may find a more complete CV/resume at http://uga.academia.edu/LauraGolobish.
