Experience Summary
I am currently enrolled in College of Southern Maryland at La Plata. My major is business administration and I am going to graduate this year. I moved here in the states three years ago from my country. I used to teach my cousin advanced mathematics, geometry and basic trigonometry when she was in the 9th grade. I have a very good understanding in mathematics, especially in pre-algebra and basic algebra. I am already teaching a middle school kid who is in his 6th grade. I am teaching him mathematics. I am not a seasonal tutor. I will be willing to help anyone as long as I have enough time to help him or her.
Math is my favorite subject! Student need to take mathematics from their basic level to advanced level of education, regardless of their majors or areas of interests. I am from Bangladesh, which is a part of Asia continent and I have a very good background in mathematics. I am very good in explaining methods of mathematics and I have also helped with mathematics to students here. I have a very good academic background in mathematics when I was in my high school. Plus I have also takes math classes here in which I got very good grades!
Math is something that is needed in every phase of life. Whether the major is medicine, dental, nursing program, accounting and so on, mathematics is the basic knowledge by which a person can get the hang of the advanced level courses. From the very beginning of a kid’s education, mathematics is one of the basic course that kid has to take. Because, s/he has to grow up and go to the outside world and eventually s/he is going to earn and has to know a lot about savings and stuff. And I know that Algebra or Pre- algebra is one of the basic math courses. And if the foundation is built well, it will be easier for any kid to go to the next level.
Teaching Style
I prefer tutoring students not more than twice a week. One hour if twice a week, and two hours if it is going to be once a week. I believe that I have to teach the students not only the concepts of mathematics, but also the methods of solving the problems. I study thoroughly before the tutoring sessions so I have full confidence over what I am going to teach the student. I also give home works and tests.
My Hobbies
My hobby is primarily listen to music.
