Experience Summary
Born and raised in China, I have a deep understanding of Chinese people and Chinese culture. Working, living and studying in the States for the past six years has provided me with abundant opportunities to work with a diverse group of people in terms of ages and backgrounds, which allows me to learn their values, to be familiar with their cultures and to understand their perspectives. ??My academic training at Smith College, LaGuardia Community College, and other schools such as Vassar College, The New School and the University of Rhode Island has equipped me with broad knowledge in Psychology, Western History, English literature and Mathematics. This has enhanced my analytical, critical and quantitative skills and thinking, improved my articulation both in written and spoken forms, and encouraged me to think creatively and bravely. The different schools that I received training from also provided me with great opportunities to make friends with people who are from different countries and to build strong networks. ??Another aspect that sets me apart from other people is that I came back to college at an older age compared to the traditional college students. My non-traditional learning path has made me realize that one should always possess a curious mind because learning is fun and liberating.
