Experience Summary
I started playing chess with my father when I was 7 and have been playing my entire life since. I grew up losing time and time again but I refused to give up on the game. I sought individuals with much more experience than me until one day, I started winning! I took on more challenging endeavors time after time and continually sought more and more challenging players to increase my expertise. Now it has been almost two years and I am waiting to lose, so my offer to teach chess isn't based upon credentials or tangible evidence of my expertise, but is just as much a search for a challenging player as it is a learning experience for my students.
Teaching Style
Hands-on. This allows the student to experience first-hand the complexities of strategy, to further build critical thinking and logic skills in a profound fashion. This will also allow the student a more "upfront" approach and will allow the student to gather their own strategies, and above all else, an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Progress will be reviewed based upon the basic ability to think ahead, forming advanced tactics, and overall knowledge of each piece's value. Through this method it is my hope that the student walks away with a deeper understanding not only of the game of chess, but also that they might be able to grasp the world around them and the value of each individual working not only for themselves but also their fellow man, sharing strength, and a collective intelligence to overcome bigger obstacles.
My Hobbies
I currently work as a mechanic and completely love the job. I enjoy the more laid back approach in things and it has influenced my hobbies as I write poetry and draw. I am an artistic sort and have sought many skills and hobbies that it would be too much to name in a short paragraph.
