Experience Summary
I have numerous years of experience substitute teaching. In the Belvidere, Il District I taught mainly special education student. In the 2003-2004 school year I taught half time physical education to at risk high school students at the Regional Learning Center in Rockford. While working as a swimming instructor at J.J. Champions in Pecitonica I taught an Autistic boy how to swim. In my undergraduate degree I took Adaptive Physical Education Courses which lead me to have an interest in teaching special needs students. Here I have aeveral courses in Special Education Cross- catorgory. I am waiting on an endorsment from the state. While working on my Masters I took time of to devote to my course work. I did several hours on observing classes of special needs, even at the school where I taught mostly behavioral disordered high school student physical education. I also in 2007-2008worked at Dekalb Park District as a learn to swim instructor and Life Guard for all age groups.As a Physical Education teacher at the Regional Learning Center I wrote lesson plans in physical education to fit the students needs and change their behavior. At the end of the year I had some students that even enjoyed badmitton. On Friday's we had a freeday and most played basketball but the girls were interested in gymnastics, so in a corner of the gym I laid dowm mats and spoted their performance.
