Experience Summary
I am an alumna of Conestoga High School, Berwyn Pa and currently a Junior at the University of Mississippi. I will be graduating in 2013 with a degree in Special Education and a minor in English. I was an intern at The Crossroad School, Malvern Pa, which is specifically devoted to students with a range of exceptionalities. My junior year at The University of Mississippi I accumulated 90 hours of observation at Upper Lafayette Elementary School, Oxford Ms. The ninety hours of observations included working with students one-on-one, enhance reading, writing, and spelling. I volunteer to take notes for students with a learning disability in Astronomy and Nutrition, for the Office of Student Disabilities. I have also volunteered to help Teachers of Tomorrow with special events sponsored by The School of Education. For the past seven years I have been a Nanny for two boy's ages four and seven. In high school I had the privilege to partake in Best Buddies. My duties as a Best Buddy was to engage in a range of activities for children with exceptionalities. At Conestoga I helped students in the Resource Room with organization, study skills, and/or any subject that needed extra help.
Teaching Style
I firmly believe that every child deserves to receive the best education out there. I aspire to share my passion and ambition to learn with my students. Anyone can be a teacher but it takes a person who is nurturing, caring, and devoted to be a good one. Sharing my own experiences with my students will show them we all have hit the bump in the road but we can overcome them. The field of education has provided me with the opportunity to live out my own life-long dream of being a teacher.
