Taught Studio of Undergraduate and Graduate Jazz Saxophone Majors
Created curriculum that addresses each student’s needs and ability with a focus on saxophone technique, sight-reading, ear training, theory and improvisation
Small Ensemble Coach Fall
Composed and arranged music, directed, and performed with University’s premiere jazz quartet.
Intro to Combo Instructor
Taught beginning improvisation techniques to multiple instrumentalists of varying ability and musical back round in a group setting and provided piano accompaniment. Assisted inexperienced students gain the necessary skills to perform in jazz small ensemble.
Big Band III Director
conducted ensemble, composed and arranged reportoire. Taught students the basics of ensemble playing in a jazz setting as well as instructing soloists how to function improviser.
