Professional experience
· Since April 2011: Work as an independent translator in France and now in Raleigh, North Carolina, since July. Translation of a wide variety of (technical) documents: diplomas, résumés, covers letters, marriage certificates, user guides (power packs, solar panels, lanterns and other outdoor equipment), etc.
· From January to April 2011: Internship in English Training/Translation company. Tasks: Teaching English, administration/supervision of TOEIC tests, organization of linguistic resources, and translation and proofreading of documents in a variety of fields including high-end speakers, drug tests, sales and marketing, transport of dangerous goods, psychoanalysis, tourism, résumés and cover letters, and town planning.
· From November 2009 to February 2010: Private English tutoring to high school students (Saint-Étienne, France)
· From August 2008 to June 2009: Private/group French tutoring to English natives (Raleigh, N.C.)
· From January to May 2008: Volunteer at the AFEV, Association de la Fondation Étudiante pour la Ville (tutoring, helping young outcast children better integrate) (Saint-Étienne, France)
· 2008: Volunteer translation from French into English of the subtitles of a documentary about Mongolia entitled “A Different Perspective.”
· July 2006: Clerk in charge of translating the brochures of a mechanical engineering company from French into English. The documents that were translated contained technical descriptions of equipment such as CNC machines as well as information about the company’s activities and the materials they use. (S.A. · 2006: Tutoring (English, math, French) with a high school student (Sury-le-Comtal, France)
