Experience Summary
I have my Master's in Teaching the German Language ( 108 college level credits of German- Grammatik, Literatur, Landeskunde,..)
I have taught the German Language on Elementary, Middle, and High school level for 16 years. Currently I am working as an instructor at International Language Institute- Saint Petersburg College and Inlingua- Language School.
I studied the language at the University in Poland as well as Herder Institute of the University of Leipzig (Thanks to the funding-Die Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung), Germany.
As a teacher I took part in Teacher Training in Dillingen at the Akademie Für Lehrerfortbildung und Personalführung, Germany.
When studying I worked for six summers in Germany as a translator from Polish into German.
Teaching Style
I am a language enthusiast who believes that learning the foreign language involves the same process as one learns the native language: by listening, repeating the patterns and learning the rules. I try to make learning fun and exciting.
I am patient, prompt, and reliable. I also like to use books, CD's, and the internet, to provide teaching materials and exercises. My teaching methods are different depending on the age of the student. Some students need explanations about the grammar and the spelling. I encourage my students to watch German programs im Internet, to listen to German artists and, if possible, to write to somebody who speaks German.
