Experience Summary
"Teaching" was the way I supported myself through college. I was a lab instructor, university experience teacher, cultural anthropology tutor, nutrition educator, and even a gymnastic instructor.
I was thankful to find the College of St. Mary's Masters of Arts in Teaching. It is a solid program that has given me the opportunity to have a formal education in teaching. In my program I have over 100 practicum hours in a middle school science classroom, I tutored AP chemistry, and I have had exposure to reading comprehension strategies in many of my classes. Right now I student teach at Wichita North High. My classes are anatomy and physiology, biology, and honors biology.
Teaching Style
I have a passion for education. I am a lifelong learner that loves getting my student excited about learning. This is often easier said than done. Through instruction in my teaching program and field experiences I have learned how to motivate students, address various types of intelligences, convey knowledge of my content area, and find lessons to best fit the needs of my students to help them actively learn.
