Experience Summary
As a native Chinese speaker, I enjoy teaching others Chinese because I could see people have the urge to learn the language. Many people would be surprised to know that Cantonese and Mandarin are consider as Chinese. However, they tone and the way to speak Cantonese and Mandarin are totally different. I grew up in Southern China, so I am good at speaking and writing in Cantonese and Mandarin. I have experienced on teaching young kids Chinese one-by-one. By talking and correcting the pronunciation, people learn Chinese more quickly through daily conversation. Usually, I would use English and Chinese in teaching. In addition, I can also use only Chinese in teaching if it is required.
Teaching Style
In my way of teaching, conversation is very important because people can learn faster through talking. For those who want to learn Chinese character, there will be a small booklet for them to learn how to write. In addition, I have different level of textbook for teaching Chinese. Flash cards, games, and cartoon video are the teaching materials I have prepared for teaching. Play to learn, that is my teaching style.
