Experience Summary
I have been playing guitar for 8 years. I started attended the Atlanta Institute of Music, and graduated with honors in Advanced music applied to guitar in 2008. I was asked many times to help other students in my level class to help them understand the material better, thus I tutored advanced students. I worked for Vision Music, an in-home music lessons service, for 6 months. Since then, I've taught my younger brother and sister occasionally, played in various bands, had a couple of different jobs, and now that I have the right opportunity, I'm trying to get back into the music business.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is one that includes both work and fun. I expect my students to practice regularly and advance in learning. However, I also like to incorporate fun into work. My students tell me why they want to learn and get to pick out songs that they want to learn and I will teach the songs to them. If I don't know the song, I take the time to learn it, so that they can enjoy learning. I am a laid back instructor who while I do expect improvement want my students to enjoy music and enjoy making music.
