Experience Summary
I began my French studies in my first year at Belmont and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to study the language primarily. After my first trip to France in the summer of 2007, my skills in the language took off, as did my passion for learning. I began tutoring other student athletes and other students at my university who studied French. After I graduated, I gave French lessons to two small children on a weekly basis. I have continued to study the language independently, and I founded a small conversation group that meets weekly.
Teaching Style
Aside from my French degree and tutoring experience, I also received a minor in Elementary Education. During my years at Belmont, I worked with elementary-aged refugee students and learned the patience required to walk another student through the learning process. I also spent some time in the classroom, and learned even more to meet students where they were, and then to grow them further in their academics. I believe that a strong, trusting foundation is at the bottom of every teacher-student relationship
