Experience Summary
I am currently student teaching as an English as a Second Language teacher through the Masters program at Hamline University and will be applying for my teaching license in March, 2010. I have extensive experience working with non-native English speakers both inside and outside the classroom. I also have spent over 10 years studying French and spent a semester abroad in France, so I am familiar with all the aspects of language learning both as student and as a teacher. I have volunteered at Weaver Elementary in Maplewood,MN with ESL children in Kindergarten through fifth grade and I enjoy working with elementary students very much as well as any other students who need help with their language learning.
Teaching Style
I am very excited to be working with children and young adults in a field that I am continuously learning more about. Every child can learn and it is my job to understand what works best for every child. I am very patient, flexible but I do have high expectations for every child because every child deserves to have the best expected from them.
