Experience Summary
I homeschooled my 3 children, during which time I developed, planned and taught full curricula over the course of 15 years, each year tailoring the material to the levels and needs of each child. I have taught most subjects from Kindergarten through high school level including math and science of many levels. I am also excellent at quickly understanding content I have not taught before and helping the student understand it. I am very good at helping with research papers and other writing assignments. I can help with editing and proofreading. I have taught English as a Second Language to Spanish speakers for 2 years. I have beginning Spanish speaking ability.
Teaching Style
I know how to help students study and learn. I can teach ways to get important information from notes and textbooks to help students complete assignments and increase test scores. I am very patient and if a student doesn't understand a concept the way I am presenting it, I will try other ways to present it until the student understands. I also desire to increase a student's love of learning. Test scores and grades are important, but becoming interested, even passionate about learning leads to more long-term success and lifelong, self-directed learning.
