Experience Summary
I have received my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential with Cross-Cultural Language & Academic Development (CLAD), and a Masters of Education Degree in teaching. I have over 600 hours of substitute teaching experience in the Chula Vista Elementary, South Bay, and San Diego Unified School Districts combined, which has given me opportunities to sharpen my skills in communicating effectively with students and colleagues. Last school year I was fortunate to get a job as an Impact Teacher at Nicoloff Elementary. I was the physical education teacher, but I was also blessed to be given a SRA class, which allowed me to work with English Language Learners on a daily basis. In addition, I volunteer as a tutor with Volunteer San Diego.
Teaching Style
I have always wanted to make a difference and that is why I went into teaching. I am caring, patient and passionate. I believe that every child is unique and can be instilled with enthusiasm for learning to ensure that he/she develops to the highest degree possible. I believe in using various teaching strategies and the Multiple Intelligence Theory. The learner is an "experiencing" being who will benefit from student centered, active, hands-on and creative learning activities.
