Experience Summary
I have five years experience as a certified early childhood teacher in the state of Oklahoma. I have tutored children from grades pre-k through 12th grade during this time, as well. I have a Master's Degree in Education from UCO. My degree emphasis is in reading. I am trained to diagnose and treat reading disabilities. This education provided me the training and experience to truly make a difference with struggling readers. I, first, test the students and find out their areas of difficulty. I, then, structure my instruction around the individual needs of each student.
Teaching Style
Teaching is my passion. I believe all children have the ability to learn. It is up to the teacher to find the best approach to helping each individual child. I try to find a way to connect with and truly get to know each one of my students. This enables me to gear my lessons towards their individual learning styles. My instruction is very goal-oriented. Both the child and I set goals and achieve them together. I feel this approach builds confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
