Experience Summary
As a Head Start teacher, I plan and implement daily lesson for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Being in the classroom I practice positive choice making and help the children understand what they are doing wrong and how they can best fix their problems. In my schooling, I earned a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Special Education which also gave me a specialized teaching certificate in the state of Idaho. I have taught children from toddlers up to third grade, teaching developmental subjects ranging from reading, math and science.
Teaching Style
I have love teaching and working with children since I can remember. I believe and a child needs a good trusting relationship with his teacher in order to learn the objective of the lessons being taught. In trying to build this relationship, I try to let them take the lead in their learning as much as possible and wait to see where I am need to most. I believe that if a child can take the lead in their own learning they will get much more out of what is being taught. I am also a firm believer in hands on learning, were the child can discover and manipulate objects in there environment.
