Experience Summary
I have always had a deep love for learning and education. I earned a BS Degree in Special Education and a Master of Education Degree in 1999. I have been fortunate enough to gain 20 years of teaching experience in the public school setting. I have worked primarily with students with disabilities including students with intellectual disabilities, autism, learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, hearing impairments and speech-language impairments. I have also tutored elementary-aged regular education students in reading and math for several years through school-sponsored afterschool programs.
Teaching Style
My greatest strength and tool as an educator is my ability to motivate and reinforce. I believe that all students can be successful learners and that, as educators, we must be innovative, alert, and responsive in order to reach our students. I have the ability to gauge student interest and to capitalize on that. I provide structure and the ability to introduce material in a variety of creative ways.
