Experience Summary
I am a graduate of St. John's University with a major in Spanish. Before attending college, I lived for a year in Venezuela, learning to perfect my spoken Spanish. While in college, I perfected my written Spanish through my degree and a semester living in Guatemala. I currently work as a Spanish interpreter and hold a liscense by the Minnesota State Court Interpreter Program.
Teaching Style
I am a firm believer that if a student really wants to learn, and accepts a challenge, they can learn a language faster in a few months than most people can over the course of an entire school career. I don't believe in traditional styles that simply teach words and phrases, but rather I focus on the core of grammar.
While perfecting my Spanish skills I began to develop a course to teach Spanish to beginners, and continue to perfect that course with a hope to someday publish. With the majority of my experience tutoring advanced level sophmores, juniors, and seniors in college, I am confident that I am ready for all levels of Spanish.
