Experience Summary
I attended Oakland University and earned a BS in Biology in 2008. Biology and chemistry fascinate me in many ways; however, for teaching purposes, i focus mainly on the academic part of these subjects. I was a member of the Oakland University Academic Skills Center, where i tutored biology, human physiology, general and organic chemistry, statistics and mathematics. Also i was a chemistry supplemental instructor for Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. My experience as a tutor opened up my eyes to many different types of learners, some are visual, some are auditory, and some are both. Everyone has different goals as a tutor, for me, my goal is always the same no matter who i tutor, to help understand and to enjoy the subject.
Teaching Style
My style is discipline, thorough learning and practice. My best asset in tutoring would be communicating with my students. I'll never show any signs of superiority, on the contrary, I can manipulate the session in which they would be the one teaching me the subject. I've conducted many lessons where the students present material learned in class to their peers; most of the time those who did the presentation became quite familiar and even interested in the subject.
