Experience Summary
Teacher of English as a Second Language – that was my initial BA. Being a native Russian speaker, I was able to understand nuances of learning and teaching foreign languages. After three years of experience as a school teacher I was awarded a Teacher of the Year scholarship. Then I began to practice personal tutoring. MA in Directing and Acting provided me with even deeper understanding of applied psychology. I worked as a professor and tutored both college and high school students. Plus, submission of research, professional reports and numerous articles gave me an insight into paper writing. My last ten years of tutoring include English as a Second Language, Business and Professional studies, and the arts.
Teaching Style
As a college student I was taught various pedagogical methods. Then being a professional teacher and tutor I developed my own personal style. My main believe as an educator is that every child needs individual approach. Patience, tolerance, and dedication are integral parts of productive teaching. I try to understand the child’s inner world; it helps to unfold the student’s potential more fully. Depending on the age and background of the student I combine instructions, repetitions, special assignments, and making learning fun in different proportions. I give you and your child my best practice and knowledge; it leads to achieving excellent academic results. My goal is to cultivate a conscientious student and successful person.
