About Me

Experience Summary

Hi! My name is Donna. I'm a lawyer but am a tutor as well. I love learning, and I love teaching and sharing my knowledge. If you are having trouble with a subject, I would love to help you! In college I majored in both Anthropology and Spanish. I also studied many other subjects including French, Russian, literature, art, government, and math. After college I attended law school and received my Juris Doctor degree. I have been a lawyer for over twenty years. During that time I have worked in different tutoring programs, some sponsored by churches and others by the public schools. I can tutor students in a variety of subjects including English, Spanish, and math.

Teaching Style

The most important skills I have as a teacher/tutor are the ability to explain things in an interesting but clear way, and the ability to listen. I know what it is like to try to learn with a bad teacher, and I know how important and influential a good teacher or tutor can be in a student’s life. During my years as a student, I experienced the frustration that comes with trying to understand difficult concepts, and developed techniques for succeeding. I have tutored students of all ages in a variety of subjects, and developed the ability to clarify material and to explain things to make it easier for students to learn.
