Experience Summary
I have been a substitute teacher for the last 3 years. I have taken on long term substitute jobs working with special education students in various grade levels focusing on reading, writing and math. During my graduate work I tutored a fourth grade student in reading once a week for a semester. I have earned a bachelors in birth-6th grade education and a masters in literacy education for grades kindergarten through six.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with elementary level students one on one to learn about their interest and how they learn. I like to create lessons that challenge students that talor to their learning styles and needs, while focusing on their interest as much as possible. I believe in authentic, real life, hands on teaching that engages students in posititve ways and leaves them wanted to learn more. I use postitive reinforcement to promote positive behavior and boost self-esteem and confidence in areas of stuggles.
