Experience Summary
I am a credential teacher specializing in math and reading. Currently, I am completing my Reading Specialist Credential at UC San Diego. I have been teaching for over 13 years in grades kindergarten thru college. I graduated from UC Davis teaching credential program.
My teaching career has been focused on working with student with learning disabilities, academically challenged, special education, and student’s with I.E.P.s. I enjoy teaching students and watching the “light bulb” come on.
Teaching Style
I believe that every student can become successful in school, and has the ability to learn. Furthermore, each student has their own learning style and method of learning. It is imperative to determine each student's strength and weakness, and eliminate all weakness. Working with students who are academically challenged takes patience, kindness, and encouragement. Actually, it is the one time I love the most - teaching the student who is left behind and does not understand math concepts or just like reading. You cannot depend on the public school systems. Securing a tutor for your child is an investment in his future.
