Experience Summary
With 20 years as a software engineer. I attended FIT completing Masters in Operations Research and in Environmental Science. In the past I have taught courses at the under graduate and have been charged with conducting training courses for teammates. Courses taught at the college level included computer science and programming.
I have also taught as a substitute teacher at all levels of the public school system and as a preschool and kindergarten teacher in a private school.
I was a houseparent at Fla Methodist Children’s Home for 3 years with ages 8-14.
I would be qualified in tutoring include Computer Science, history, civics, earth sciences, reading and English. My hobbies include genealogy, poetry and drawing.
Teaching Style
Learning can and is fun! As a child my family made learning an ongoing process of discovery through nature, crafts, musicals, concerts, theater, museums and reading.
I believe that one never stops learning and that everyone has something they can teach you if you open yourself up. Learning is best done through discovering and sharing your discoveries with others.
It would be my hope to instill this passion to learn reguardless of the subject matter! I also know that not every approach of method will work for everyone. The secret is finding the way overcome the hurdles so the mastery of the subject occurs without unneeded stress and self defeat.
I am confortable working with all ages from 1 year olds to senior citizens.
