Experience Summary
I have formal education experience as a science teacher in both the middle school setting (2 years), and the high school setting (1 year). I also have 3 years of informal education experience that will help me connect with students. I worked as a science educator for three years at the Louisville Science Center, creating labs and demos on every science subject. Additionally, I have been a coach for 12 years, giving me the ability to motivate and break things down. My biggest attribute as a tutor will be my ability to “think outside the box”. I feel I have a knack for understanding how to reach individuals, and am very creative when trying to teach!
Teaching Style
I really believe learning science is meant to be an experience, not just an exercise in memorization. I like to teach things with hands-on activities and field experiences. I feel like this helps the student internalize things more effectively and allows them to see that science truly can be FUN!
