Experience Summary
Continuing education is vital to the success of many engaged in the ever diversifying classroom. Many traditional aspects of education are changing as I learned from other current educators participating in my Transition to Teaching program. I was honored to earn my teaching certificate while working with professional experienced teachers.
My most recent experience was a Social Studies teacher position at a local Montessori school. Providing students with consistency and stability as they plan their own goals is intrinsically rewarding. I also recently served as a temporary long-term counselor and 7th grade Math teacher in Greater Clark Schools.
I look forward to discussing how my qualifications and experience may benefit your student.
Teaching Style
Believing that people learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives, my teaching style is one which encourages learners to seek a higher level of knowledge. In addition to reading textbooks, the students must learn by doing.
I encourage life long learning by promoting a sense of what it takes to successfully retrieve information when one needs it later. Basic memorization generally fails us all in time. Modifying or adapting information in a manner to help the learner reach success is crucial. Students may learn more from auditory, visual, or hands on methods. I always encourage learners to use what feels natural to them.
