Experience Summary
In May of 2010, I received my BS in Biological Sciences from the University of South Carolina. In addition, I have a cognate in Landform Geography. I hold a Academic Grade Point Average of 3.887/4.0, and I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. My favorite biology courses include cellular and molecular biology, although I hold extensive knowledge in all apects of the biological sciences including physiology, histology, bacteriology, genetics and plant biology.
Teaching Style
Many college freshmen struggle with Biology 101. While some universities have services to students, not all institutions are fortunate enough to give their students free access to tutoring. Therefore, I believe that it is important to set a solid foundation for the sciences in both middle and high school levels. Having the opportunity to tutor would allow me not only to share my knowledge and passion for biology, but also allow me to engage with younger peers. Tutoring is a two-way learning process not only for the student, but for the teacher as well. I consider myself a patient, understanding, and considerate person, and I will strive to meet the needs of any child's particular learning pace or style.
