Experience Summary
I graduated from Syracuse University with a dual-major in History and Social Studies Education. I have extensive knowledge in reading, writing, and grammar due to writing two thesis papers, taking several writing-intensive courses, and also creating a plethora of lesson plans. While at Syracuse I was a student-teacher for a full year in both a Suburban, 8th grade classroom and Urban, 9-11th grade classrooms. I was also a reading tutor for an at-risk 6th grade student for a semester at a Syracuse District elementary school. On campus, I tutored Foreign Graduate students on their English speaking and comprehension skills for three years. Since graduation, I have obtained my New York State Teaching Crendentials.
Teaching Style
Teaching is a very strong passion of mine and I intend on continuously working in the field of Education for many years. I am a firm believer that every child has the ability to learn to their fullest potentional and it is my job to give them the tools to achieve this. I believe children learn best through visual aid, repetition, and example to ensure that the information has been received and retained for future use. Given the proper attention, patience, and guidance, every child has the ability to be successful both in and outside the classroom. Every child should have the opportunity to be successful in the classroom and I strive to help make that a possibility.
