Experience Summary
As a future medical student, I have completed extensive coursework in math and the sciences. With a Bachelor's degree in nutrition, I have a firm grasp on biology, chemistry, anatomy, and am fascinated by interconnectedness of those subjects with relation to the human body. I delight in helping students find things that they love about those subjects and sparking their curiosity. During my two years spent tutoring, I have enthusiastically brought dozens of students to those "A-ha!" moments, and shared with them my tricks of the trade for success in math and science.
Teaching Style
I believe that an empowered student can accomplish anything with proper guidance. By building their confidence in the subject matter and ensuring that their study time is constructive, I can help set students up for success come test day. When tutoring, I always meet the student where they are, take as much time to go over concepts as they need, and work creatively to share information in a way that is appropriate to each student's individual learning style. I have experience working with students from extremely diverse backgrounds (ESL, gifted, learning "disabled," etc.), and am confident that I can provide any student with the skills they need to pass their math and science classes with flying colors.
