Experience Summary
I earned a B.A. in Mathematics at UNC-A and completed one year of graduate school in Mathematics at UNC-CH while teaching Pre-Calculus at the university for 2 college semesters. I completed all coursework to sit for the CPA exam and successfully passed the exam in 1994. I am currently working on a volunteer basis for the Asheville City Schools Foundation as an Academic Coach and Mentor in Math at the Asheville Middle School.
Teaching Style
Today's learners enjoy a more relaxed and informal style of teaching. I strongly believe students should not feel intimidated or hesitant to express their feelings about their knowledge of the subject matter. My desire is to develop a sense of confidence in their ability to understand and to tackle new problems and topics. I have 2 children in school and enjoy helping them become the learners they truly are.
