Experience Summary
I have earned a BA in English. In earning that degree I have taken several linguistic classed. With that said my knowledge of the written and spoken language is pretty strong. With holding an English degree I am trained to comprehend what I have read as well as analyzing the material. During my undergraduate years I have helped kids and peers to learn how to speed read, reading comprehension, as well as how to write a strong paper.
Teaching Style
I like to make a difference in a child's life. I enjoy seeing the child understand what they have read or being able to sound a word out and understand its meaning. I think that in today's time a lot of students do not understand how to write a well worded paper and this skill is very useful in the higher years of one's education. I also believe that reading comprehension is important since this skill is often used in standardized tests. I am patient and am able to work at the student's pace no matter how slow or fast it is.
