Experience Summary
I have worked as an administrator in charge of a tutoring program where I hired math and reading tutors. My experience included training and mentoring tutors hired in the program. Also, I have worked as a 7th grade math teacher and 8th grade pre-algebra teacher for one year. This included writing lesson plans, teaching basic math and pre-algebraic math concepts, grading papers and attending team meetings.
Teaching Style
I believe in a student centered environment where the student needs are met through discovery, direct questioning and a guided independent learning environment. Working as a teacher includes researching to present new information to learners. It also includes being available for student-parent conferences to report on the progress of the student and to answer any questions about tests and scheduling of new test and teaching requirements.
