Experience Summary
Having and pursuing a Masters degree in Education, I am a strong advocate of education. Teaching international students abroad sparked my interest in teaching English as a Second Language. Working for seven years at a language school has given me extensive experience teaching a widely diverse ELL population from Beginning to Advanced levels, tutoring numerous ESL students, and participating in formal assessment of writing and speaking skills. Furthermore, I taught English Writing 101, 102 and Research Writing classes to vocational higher education students. More recently I taught ESL community college Academic Writing classes. These varied experiences have given me a variety of teaching methods to help students excel in English.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with students of all ages. I believe that all students can learn and the key to their success is to discover the learning style that allows them to progress at a comfortable pace, yet make progress at every lesson. I am patient, flexible, and easy going. My goal is to help each individual student achieve academic success. I am a firm believer in individualized instruction which is tailored to the students’ needs as well as the teachers/parents goals. I believe every student can reach and surpass their goals if given the time and appropriate learning experiences. I strive to be a positive influence, a motivator, and a dedicated educator which will inspire my students’ lives.
