Experience Summary
I have 4 years experience working as a math tutor at Baker College's Clinton Township campus, and 2 years experience working as a student observer/student teacher at Chippewa Valley schools district. I have experience working with students from 6th grade to college seniors, ages ranging from 12 and older. I have taught and/or tutored classes from Basic Math to Calculus IV, and have experience with field related technology including Microsoft Office, MyMathLab software, and Graphic Calculator software. In addition, I have helped prepare students for the math section in standardized tests including MTTC, ACT, Nursing Entrance Exam, and Praxis.
Teaching Style
My greatest strengths include patience and flexibility to adjust instruction to meet the students' needs. I motivate students by actively engaging their minds by incorporating different activities and cooperative learning projects. In addition I tailor lesson plans to their diverse interest, as well as demonstrate direct connections between classroom and everyday life. My goal is to make math understandable and enjoyable and to help students realize the many applications math has in their daily lives as well as in a variety of professions.
