Experience Summary
I have been teaching for the last twenty years in elementary and middle school. I have taught grades K, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. I was the technology administrator in a small private school for the last 10 years which included teaching the staff how to incorportate computer skills into their curriculum. I am currently teaching Reading Prep at the local college. During my years as a teacher, I have learned how to incorportate different stategies into my teaching to reach all types of learners. My stengths are in Language Arts and computer skills. I have tutored students in college english, ACT/SAT prep, reading and grammar, keyboarding, and study skills.
Teaching Style
I have many years of varied teaching experiences. I am a capable, hardworking, and personable educator who easily adapts to new situations and challenges.I believe that students can reach academic success by teaching them not only content, but the strategies and organizational skills they need to be life-long learners. I am certified in Exceptional Student Education, and have had the opportunity to watch my own son strive and succeed with the skills that he learned from me.
As a result of my knowledgeable teaching approach, my students tend to be creative, competent, and confident learners.
