Experience Summary
I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. I have been working in the Accounting field for 9 years and plan to sit for the CPA exam in the future. In the accounting field many talents are needed: problem solving skills, patience, attention to detail, explanations of technical ideas and terms as well as the ability to meet deadlines. These are the skills that I will be bringing to my tutoring sessions to help each student excel in their studies. I have two years of experience tutoring middle school and high school students in Algebra I and Algebra II.
Teaching Style
When tutoring a student, I like to start with giving the student a few problems to see where their competency level lies. From there, I proceed like a teacher in a classroom would. I explain a problem while I am solving it step by step on a piece of paper. This allows the student to learn two separate ways-visually and orally. Once an idea is grasped, I like to give the student a couple of similar problems to solve on their own. I am very patient and will not give up on a student-even if it means taking more time on a specific area. I am here to help the student gain confidence and understanding in their area of study.
