Experience Summary
As a recent graduate of BYU in Business Management (finance emphasis) I have been able to show excellence in my own school work. I have a major GPA of 3.85 (including many Accounting and Finance classes) as well as receiving a 4.0 while taking the “finance core” classes.
Receiving a score of “5” on both the Calculus AB and BC tests during high school prepared me for college.
Previous tutoring includes training new workers for employment positions (including a customer service representative and a restaurant position). While serving a 2-year mission for the LDS church I was able to train other missionaries. Much of this training included a personalized one-on-one teaching of how to approach, teach, and perform the necessary work.
Teaching Style
I believe you can only help the student learn if you are willing to take time to "bend down" to their understanding and help lift them up. As a person that easily empathizes with others, it is natural for me to take time to understand the person who I am tutoring. Through building trust with that person I can naturally help them to understand what they may be missing or not understanding.
Through helping the student know that I care about their learning at a personal level I believe that they will learn to trust and the teaching/learning relationship will begin to naturally occur.
