Experience Summary
I am a graduate of Rowan University and have my BA degree in Elementary Education. I have approximately twenty years of teaching experience which includes work as a preschool teacher, classroom aide, substitute teacher, third grade teacher, and basic skills instructor. My experience has taught me how to use the student's interests and learning styles to help them learn the skills being taught. I use worksheets, games, flashcards, and computer programs to reinforce skills being taught. I have tutored students in both language and math for grades kindergarten through sixth grade.
Teaching Style
I create a warm and caring environment that is conducive to learning and allows the students to feel comfortable and work to their fullest potential. I provide the students with meaningful lessons, projects, games, activities, and worksheets that teach the skills being taught and make learning fun. I let the students make choices and play an active roll in their education so together we learn about the material being covered. I allow the students to work at their own pace and level of ability so they can be successful. I enjoy tutoring students so they gain more confidence in their skills and in turn feel better about themselves and school.
