Experience Summary
I am a teacher with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (K-8), Masters Degree in Education and a Moderate Special Needs Certification(K-8). My teaching experience for the past 37 years is as follows: Elementary Resource Teacher (K-6)-( pull-out services in math, reading, ELA, Social Studies, and Science), grade 6 Inclusion teacher in Math and ELA, grade 6 Math strategies teacher for sped students. I have utilized many elementary language-based reading programs, one being the Orton-
Gillingham). For the past twenty years I have also tutored regular education and special education students (K-8) in math, reading, ELA, Social Studies and MCAS strategies.
Teaching Style
I have enjoyed teaching children of all ages. I find it not only rewarding for me, but for the students who find success in my teaching expertise. Being a Special Education teacher, I have used a multi-sensory approach to learning. Children need to access all modalities (visual, auditory, sensory, tactile), because students have different learning styles in achieving goals and success in the learning process. All children can learn with the right teaching approach, skills, and materials necessary for their learning style in achieving academic success. I am available every day morning, afternoon, and evenings.
