Experience Summary
I was first introduced to accounting by owning my own business. Then I was hired by an engineering company to update their bookkeeping method from paper to computer. I became proficient in troubleshooting discrepancies and providing users with solutions. I interfaced with Federal and State taxing agencies, banks, and lending institutions requiring reports and/or payments. I then moved on to a Software Development company as a Product Manager of accounting software being developed for internet use by accountants. I trained and answered questions, wrote newsletters, prepared marketing materials and taught at seminars. I became a mentor and troubleshooter for the software users.
Teaching Style
I love teaching. Currently I am working with adults in debt management and financial counseling. Money management is critical to the survival of a family and easily sabotaged by impulse spending. I most enjoy one-on-one situations. I have good people skills and have worked with children and adults from many cultures and walks of life.
