Experience Summary
I have enjoyed teaching Reading, Language, and Math to K-6 students in classroom, Title 1, and special education classes and I have tutored Elementary and Middle School students in
English, Reading, Writing, and Math. I like to teach to individual student needs and involve the students in lessons, learning activities, give them opportunities to read a variety of books, and involve them in writing prompts and journal writing. I have earned a BA in Elementary Education and a MEd in Reading and I am certified in Wisconsin as a Elementary teacher (1-8) and as a Reading teacher (K-8).
Teaching Style
I believe that all children can learn and that they learn in different ways. As a teacher, I like to involve students in lessons and teach with hands-on activities for students to see
the process. I try many different methods and strategies to
help each student learn to his or her highest potential. I like to get to know my students and I like to find and create materials to meet individual interests and learning needs. Students experience success by involvement and by learning skills to meet their needs and are motivated to learn. I am caring, flexible, and patient.
