Experience Summary
I was an Adult Education Instructor for Jefferson County Public Schools for two years. I provided adults and families with quality educational services needed to upgrade skills or obtain a GED. Some of my job duties included recruiting, testing, and retaining adult learners. I have also developed lesson plans and facilitated learning through the use of technology.
I have earned my B.S.B.A in Accounting as well as a M.A. in Management and Leadership. My strongest areas of study are in math and writing.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching, I find it to be one of the most rewarding expeirences not only for the learner but for the teacher as well. Although my experience is with adult learners, I would welcome the opportunity to work with children. I had an opportunity to volunteer as a big sister for the BBBS organization and I really enjoyed the interaction between myself and my 5th grade mentee.
As far as my teaching style, I try not to limit the learner or myself to any one particular style. I believe everyone has a unique and idividual way of learning. What works for one person may not work for another. There are many approaches and methods of teaching, some learners are visual while others may be more participative. My style of teaching is centered around the learner, I leave it up to the learner to determine what my style will be.
I am always very excited about the opportunity to learn new things and I try my best to pass that excitement onto the learner.
